Oft arbeiten wir auch unabhängig von einander an verschiedenen Projekten, wobei wir uns natürlich abgleichen und beraten. Wir konstruieren hier zwar emotionalisierende Produkte, die Herangehensweise ist aber klassischer Maschinenbau, also die Kombination von Grundlagenforschung und der Entwicklung von geeigneten Fertigungsverfahren. Wir entwerfen Bauteile und Baugruppen mit Hilfe von CAD-Programmen am Computer und simulieren dann eine virtuelle Fertigung, bevor die Bauteile anschließend auf einer CNC Maschine gefertigt werden. Natürlich versüßt es einem die Arbeit, wenn man weiß, dass man Dinge konstruiert, die dazu geeignet sind, Leidenschaft zu entfachen, wie zum Beispiel die [G-BOXX] , eine unanfällige, zentral in den Rahmen integrierte 14-Gang Getriebschaltung, welche die Störanfälligkeit der Kettenschaltung umgeht und trotzdem das volle Übersetzungsspektrum bietet. Oder die dazu passende [COR] Hinterradnabe, die einen komfortablen, sauberen Radausbau ermöglicht, weil Kette, Ritzel und Bremsscheibe am Rahmenheck bleiben. Diese Features funktionieren und haben sich seit 3 Jahren bewährt. We often also work independently of each other on a variety of different projects but still bounce ideas back and forth. Though we work on things that people get very passionate about, our approach is classic engineering – extensive research followed by the development of suitable and efficient production techniques. We design parts and assemblies by means of CAD programs at our computers, and then simulate a virtual production of the parts prior to actually machining them by CNC later on. I have to admit that one of the best aspects of the job is that people do have a strong passion for the things that I work on. I mean, look at the [G-BOXX] for example; a 14 speed gear system integrated into the centre of the frame that avoids the vulnerability of the derailleur whilst still providing the same range of gears! Or the matching [COR] rear hub that enables a quick and clean rear wheel disassembly because chain, sprocket and brake disc remain attached to the swing-arm. These features have really proved themselves over the last 3 years. That gives me a good feeling inside!”
