1 Über das ION14 wurde ich als eingefleischter BMXer ja bereits ans Fully Fahren herangeführt. Nun konnte ich mit dem ION18 mal ein Bike der oberen Federwegsklasse testen. Wer hätte gedacht, dass ich von Null auf Hundert so auf Fullys abfahre? Das ION18 ist das perfekte Allround-Spielzeug. Durch das progressive Setup, das dem meines 4X ION14 ähnelt, ist es beinahe antriebsneutral und ich konnte prima am Gegenhang hoch pedalieren und sogar Zwischensprints einbauen. Das ION18 ist einfach unverkennbar der große Bruder des ION14, ähnlich agil bei technischen Passagen und in Kurven und bietet dazu noch mehr Sicherheits- reserven bei großen Sprüngen und Drops. Mit dem ION14 gingen schon ganz schön große Sprünge auf der Pro- Section (siehe Home Speed Home Video www.pinkbike. com/video/206584), was wird da wohl mit dem ION18 alles drin sein? Bin gespannt auf das nächste Video Projekt. As a die-hard BMX rider it took a while to get me on a full suspension. I had already had the opportunity to test the ION14 this year, thus the next step to the ION18 wasn’t far away. Who would have thought that I would dig it from naught to sixty to go rad on full suspension bikes. The ION18 is the perfect all-around toy. Due to the progressive setup similar to that of my 4X ION14, it‘s almost neutral while pedalling, and I could easily climb and do some intermediate sprints. The ION18 is just unmistakably the big brother of the ION14, similar agile handling in technical sections and curves. It offers even greater safety reserves with big jumps and drops. The ION14 already went pretty well on big jumps such as the Pro-Section (watch the Home Speed Home Video www.pinkbike.com/ video/206584). What would be possible with an ION18 then?
