Sitzwinkel – reell oder virtuell Bei Hollandrädern läuft das Sitzrohr aufs Tretlager zu, beim ION18 tut es dies nicht. Sein vorgezogenes Sitzrohr ermöglicht dafür kurze Kettenstreben für wendigeres Fahrverhalten, satten Downhill-Federweg und eine voll versenkbare Sattelstütze. Auch beim ION18 haben wir den reellen Sitzwinkel abgeflacht. Tourentauglich ist es trotzdem. Das siehst Du in der Bildmontage mit dem Helius AM. Die Touren-Sitzposition beider Rahmen ist gleich, der virtuelle Sitzwinkel fast identisch. Seat angle - effective or virtual The ION18 seat tube design is different from classic frame designs and doesn‘t end on the BB housing but rather further to the front on the down tube. This re-arrangement of the seat tube position was necessary to achieve enough travel while keeping the chain-stay short at the same time for maximum maneuverability. Also the seat post remains sunken thanks to the continuous seat tube. To adjust the sitting position we have flattened the seat tube angle a few degrees. To show you that a flatter ION18 seat tube is still as suitable for long trail ridings as the steeper one of the Helius AM we have prepared a graphic showing both seat positions. As you can see they have almost identical seat positions once the seat post is extended, which means they have almost the same virtual seat tube angle.
