Nucleon AM / Nucleon E2 We have combined the successful genetics of Nicolai gearbox bikes from years gone by with the modern versatility of our topseller Helius AM. Rohloff’s 14-speed-hub, well protected inside the G-Boxx, allows changing as many gears up and down as you like, in any situation. Yes, even without spinning. The high position of the G-Boxx provides greater ground clearance. The frame’s centre of gravity guarantees perfect handling on the trail. The drive pinion does not spin around an extended line of the bottom bracket. We’ve put it a little bit higher and moved it to the left making the frame more efficient in terms of power transfer and more responsive in terms of handling. Can you imagine the centre of the drive pinion? Extend that point from the left to the right side of the frame – it’s the pivotal point of the rear frame. Consequently the chain tension remains constant no matter how much the rear shock is rocking doing away with the need for a chain tensioner. Our patented compound rear hub (COR) leaves disc and drive-train on the frame when taking off the wheel. This way, the bike becomes a tough high-end enduro, suitable for everyday-use whilst at the same time boasting freeride abilities. The Nucleon E2 is the big brother of the Nucleon AM. It’s built for downhill only and comes with ION technology to reach 200 millimeters of travel in the rear. The big benefit of downhill gearbox bikes? You can change gears while slowing down when approaching turns without spinning.
