We have a long tradition in racing. Leigh Donovan's downhill world champion bike, which Kalle originally built for the US manufacturer Mongoose, laid the foundation for our brand in 1995 as the Nicolai Trombone. Since then, we have been an ever-present name at national and international races, with legendary teams such as KRC-Nicolai, SRAM-Nicolai, Gates-Nicolai, Conti-Nicolai and the sponsorship of numerous solo athletes such as BMX world champion Yvan Lapraz and downhill pro Benoit Coulanges. With the Nicolai Racing enduro team, we joined the competition in 2023.

Nicolai Racing - a fast woman and a fast man. Lena Arndt and Marvin Kaufmann, aka Mupfen, had already gained national and international racing experience before the team was founded in 2023 and have tasted so much success that they have developed an appetite for more. Lena and Mupfen have been riding together as friends for a long time and form a well-coordinated team to which everyone brings their individual mix of skills and personality. In their first season, the team has already achieved numerous podiums and secured the overall win in the BC Enduro Series thanks to Lena.

With the Nucleon 16 Supre, launched in 2023, we are giving the team the strongest and fastest enduro racing machine we have ever built. With its revolutionary drivetrain, the Supre Drive from Canadian manufacturer LAL Bikes, the Nucleon combines the efficiency of a derailleur with the resilience of a gearbox bike. With the Nucleon 16, we have realized a super capable high-pivot chassis that achieves the desired performance in terms of anti-squat, anti-rise, wheel lift curve and progression without any compromise, as its kinematics are not subject to the technical limitations of regular derailleur systems. By using the Nucleon 16 Supre as a team bike, we not only want to demonstrate its performance under competitive conditions, but also make a statement about our passion for innovation and our love of cycling. Nicolai is racing.

We are happy that we could again win strong sponsors to equip and support the team for the 2024 season. New to the team is suspension specialist Intend, who is supporting the team with forks, shocks and technical support. Mupfen is testing the prototype of an Intend double crown fork in the 2024 season, while Lena's Edge USD fork has been powder-coated by us in team silver.

Trickstuff remains on board as a sponsor and will once again supply the team with brakes, rotors and pads that are among the best of the best. Another highlight are the team bikes' Race 30 wheels, which, like the cockpits, will be supplied by Tune. With its innovative mounting systems, magnetic holders and water bottles, Fidlock will once again ensure the team's hydration.
